13th May 1896 and possible the 2nd September  at Three Mile Hill

1897 set up station at the Hillcrest Bungalow. Working in the outbuilding containing a lantern room,
Test were mainly transmitted from the field in Malt House Lane adjacent to the Hillcrest Bungalow.

  
15th March was very windy for the balloons, but managed 1 1/2 miles (Battery Hill)
16 -18th March Several Mishaps with Kites due to weather and inexperience.
18th March 2 miles to Winterslow
19th March  4 miles to Middle Winterslow
20th March Pitton to 2.5 Miles
20th March 3 Miles to Farley
20th March to 5 Miles to Between east and West Grinstead
20th March to Pepperbox Hill 6.7 Miles
21st March 7.5 Miles to Beacon Hill
22nd March 3.8 Miles and then 4.5 Miles Winterborne Road
23rd 4.3 Miles to Near Amesbury
24th March 3,8 Miles to Winterborne Road with flat batteries.

Marconi continued to use The Hillcrest bungalow for the development of equipment until December 1897


 

At a later date, Marconi  transmitted from Hillcrest to G.P.O Bath 34 miles

Equipment used were 6ft  hydrogen balloons and kites. 150ft wire and 5inch spark coil. 16volts @ 5 amps
